About Us
Who We Are
Access Health Initiative (AHI) is a non-governmental organization based in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon. We are a multidisciplinary team of Medical Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, Laboratory Technicians, Clinical Psychologists, and Psychotherapists committed to bridging the healthcare gap in underserved and remote communities.
Our work focuses on conflict-affected, hard-to-reach, and resource-limited areas where healthcare is often inaccessible. We step in to provide free consultations, treatment, screenings, mental health support, and health education — bringing hope, dignity, and care directly to the people who need it most.
Our Mission
To deliver equitable, quality healthcare to vulnerable populations in hard-to-reach areas, fostering healthier communities through prevention, treatment, and awareness.
Our Vision
A world where every individual, regardless of location or circumstance, has access to essential healthcare services.
Our Values
- Compassion
- Equity
- Accountability
- Community-Centered Care
- Professional Excellence
Our Approach
AHI works through community-based outreach, collaborative partnerships, and sustainable health programs that empower local populations.
From field missions on foot and motorbikes to formal training programs for rural health workers, we are committed to long-term grassroots impact.
Our Story
Founded in 2020, Access Health Initiative emerged in response to the growing healthcare challenges in conflict-affected regions of Cameroon.
Amid insecurity, limited infrastructure, and economic hardship, many communities were left without basic medical care. AHI was created to bridge this gap through compassion-driven, community-centered interventions focused on dignity and accessibility.
